Forget snakes on a plane. We have bats to worry about, now.
On Wednesday morning, passengers on a 6:00 a.m. flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Newark, New Jersey received quite the scare after a loose bat that somehow made it aboard a Spirt Airlines flight decided to dart through the cabin.
An absolute nightmare.

Two passengers shared footage of the terrifying scene on Twitter. In the first video, shown above, people can be heard screaming, and seen crouching down in their seats and attempting to hide behind the bathroom door.
In the video below, however, a man can be heard saying, "It's the Batplane," and a woman laughs and jokingly adds, "It's the Batmobile... Hey Batman."

According to a tweet from @jpscattini, the bat emerged about 30 minutes into the 90-minute flight, and no one on board had any idea where it came from. Eventually, he says, someone trapped the bat between a book and a cup and locked it in one of the plane's restrooms for the remainder of the flight.

According to a statement obtained by HuffPost, Spirit Airlines said the bat was "removed once on the ground by animal control officers" and that no one was injured during the flight.
"The aircraft was disinfected and searched as a precaution... It is believed the bat started its journey in Charlotte, flying into an overhead bin while our crews were doing overnight maintenance," a representative from Spirit told the publication.
The situation was undoubtedly terrifying, but at least passengers appeared to handle the rogue bat in a calmer manner than Dunder Mifflin employees did in that one episode of The Office.
