Drake's 'Degrassi' meme appeared in a NYC Parks Department proposal for some reason

Before big hits like "Hotline Bling" and "Controlla," Drake was just a Canadian actor and a viral meme waiting to land in public park documents and city proposals.

Hmmm, maybe not, but that happened anyway.

The More Liferapper cut his teeth on the Canadian teen drama Degrassi asJimmy Brooks. And Jimmymade a very unexpected cameo in a New York City Parks Department's "Parks Without Borders" presentation about renovations to Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park.

The character appeared in the proposed entrance ramp created to make the park more accessible for wheelchairs. Maybe also to get more millennials involved in proposal planning?

The New York Post asked the park department spokesperson Sam Biederman how Drake ended up in the proposal to which he replied, "started at the bottom of Fort Greene Park’s signature hill, now we’re here with the final design, which takes care to create a more welcoming park entrance — with improved views."

The image of 'Wheelchair Jimmy' became a meme close to the time Drake's music career was taking off. It goes to show, unlike Jimmy Brooks himself, memes will always live on.
