As if everything weren't strange enough these days, the Pentagon this week released footage of "unidentified aerial phenomena" — for the laymen, UFOs —and, predictably, the internet lost it.
We'll get to that but first, check out the footage.

The Navy said it released the previously leaked videos captured by fighter pilots to clear up any misconceptions about their authenticity. One of the videos was taken in 2004, while two others were filmed in 2015.
"After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena," the Defense Department said in a statement on Monday.
Faced with certifiably real videos of UFOs — which doesn't necessarily mean aliens, mind you, just that the objects weren't identified — the internet did what is does best. It made jokes. Very 2020 jokes, to be specific.
Here are some of our favorite responses.
