There are already a million ways to put filters on your phone camera photos, but Adobe is here with another, potentially better option.
Photoshop Camera is a new app that Adobe rolled out for everyone on Android and iOS this week. The feature was first announced back in November, with an early version rolling out at the time. As its name suggests, Photoshop Camera is a way for you to take or import photos from your mobile camera roll and put seemingly high-quality filters and effects on them, like so:
That might sound redundant given just how many different ways there are to put filters on your face already, but some of the filters do look cool. You can turn your face into glitch art or put a more dreamy-looking sky into a photo of the horizon. Go figure that the people who make Photoshop would be good at this.
Of course, it wouldn't be a mobile app without branding opportunities. Adobe's initial reveal back in November emphasized Billie Eilish-branded camera lenses for Photoshop Camera. Expect to see plenty of things like that if you decide to check out Adobe's newest app. It's also worth noting that this is pretty much Photoshop in name only; while it has some cool-looking photo editing features, it's not going to be nearly as capable as the full-sized Photoshop experience.
Still, it's probably worth checking out if you need to spice up your Instagram selfies and you've already worn out every filter on that app.
