Sorry, but Elon Musk is clearly sick and tired of you roasting him with your Quotes.
SEE ALSO: Twitter aka X rolls out Community Notes 'fact checks' for videosX/Twitter, which used to display Quote Tweets via a simple click, has been through a redesign recently. Now, you can no longer quickly access Quotes via a post itself — instead, you have to click the three dots in the top-right corner, then click on "View post engagements" in order to see the Quotes. Sigh.
Why has this change been made? Well, it's not exactly clear. X hasn't posted about the update or given its reasoning. Quotes were previously the main way users could respond to a post that had the comments turned off, so our best bet is that someone high up at X decided they wanted to make these responses harder to find.
Given that Musk is so keen on freedom of speech that X is currently suing California over it, it might seem like an odd decision to hide a feature of the site that allows users to respond to one another's content. Then again, it wouldn't be the first strange decision X has made in recent months, from the bizarre name change to the increasingly confusing ad disclosures.
Mashable reached out to X and received an automated response reading: "Busy now, please check back later."
