There are many things Americans need right now, but seeing Paul Ryan attempt to dab is definitely not one of them.
Despite this fact, the Speaker of the House decided to do it anyway... on national television.
Way to go, Paul. 😒

Ryan, who could not look more perplexed by the boy's dab pose, reportedly mistook the dance move for a sneeze, and therefore, was frightened by it. "Were you gonna sneeze? Is that it?" he asked the kid who was just trying to have some fun in this world. Geez.
Despite Ryan later admitting in a tweet that he "still doesn't get what dabbing is," he must have watched some YouTube tutorials or took a secret lesson from Cam Newton because he came to his CNN Town Hall on Thursday ready.
When asked which comments on social media have amused and bothered Ryan the most, he recalled his shameful moment of pop-culture ignoranceat the swearing in.
"You know, I actually do know what a dab is," Ryan said in an attempt to save whatever's left of his social rep.
Before he showed the world how he believes you're reallyyyysupposed to dab, he was sure to critique the dabbing technique of Marshall's son. Because what else is he going to do to recover at this point?

Wow. What a sight, Ryan. What... a... sight.
You can perfect your moves all you want, Ryan, but you can't dab your way out of this one.
